Our Materials
A lot of care goes in to each and every Beverley Sandoy product. Our handmade cushions are made with fabrics hand-picked by Beverley herself, and assembled in her little studio at the back of the house. We believe in pure materials: 100% cotton, 100% wool, 100% linen. At Beverley Sandoy, we ensure that almost all of our materials are sourced locally from New Zealand small businesses.
If Beverley’s not home, you can find her at a local crafts fair or in one of her favourite fabric or fur shops. We choose high-quality materials because we are insistent on durability. We aren’t a mass-producing interior store, promoting fabrics that aren’t organic. We’re here to create cushions from great materials that will make your home unlike any other. All of our cushions are made with the option of containing a feather inner for your complete comfort, and we’ll be introducing a guide on how to take good care of your cushions to make sure they last and can remain sitting proudly in your home for years to come. At Beverley Sandoy, we adore materials that have come from nature. Our range of skins includes Icelandic and New Zealand sheepskin, Irish/English lambskin and Mongolian long-hair goatskin. For the material that goes into our cushions, our ‘Texture Scheme’ contains items made from cowhide, having the effect of creating pieces made from an original material with a unique pattern, no two are the same.
